Salon figures reflect typical UK laser hair removal course prices. Clinics use laser rather than IPL, and individual prices and results vary.
How it works
Three steps. About fifteen minutes.
- Step 1
Shave
Shave the area first, so the light reaches the root rather than the hair above your skin.
- Step 2
Choose your level
Start on the lowest setting and work up as your skin gets used to the treatment.
- Step 3
Glide and flash
Rest the cooling head flat on your skin and work across the area, one flash at a time.
Why it works
IPL sends pulses of broad-spectrum light into the hair follicle. The pigment in the hair absorbs that light as heat, which disrupts the follicle's ability to regrow. Hair grows in cycles, so treating every two weeks catches each follicle while it's active.
Your first 12 weeks
Consistency does the work.
IPL is gradual by design. This is what a typical routine looks like.
Weeks 1–4
Build the routine
One session every two weeks. Many people notice regrowth coming back slower and patchier.
Weeks 5–12
See the difference
Keep to fortnightly sessions. Regrowth becomes noticeably sparser and finer.
Week 13 onwards
Top up
Drop to a session every four to eight weeks, as and when you need one.
Results vary with hair colour, skin tone and how consistently you treat. IPL works best on darker hair against lighter skin.
Before you buy
Is SELORIA right for you?
IPL targets the pigment in hair, so it needs contrast between your hair and your skin. Check both — we'd rather you knew now than found out later.

See all FAQsDoes it hurt?
Most people describe it as a warm pulse or a light snap against the skin rather than pain. The ice-cooling head chills your skin before each flash, which makes sessions considerably more comfortable than waxing. Sensitive areas like the bikini line and upper lip can feel warmer — start on the lowest level and work up.
When will I see results?
IPL is gradual. With a session every two weeks, many people notice slower, patchier regrowth within the first few weeks, and a clearer difference over 12 weeks. After that, a top-up every four to eight weeks maintains it. Results vary with hair colour, skin tone and consistency.
Will it work on my skin and hair?
SELORIA works best on skin types I–IV with black, dark or mid-brown hair. It isn't suitable for very dark skin (types V–VI), or for blonde, red, grey or white hair, because IPL needs pigment in the hair to work. If you're unsure, email us a photo before you order.
Who shouldn't use it?
Please don't use IPL if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of skin cancer, take medication that makes you sensitive to light, or have epilepsy triggered by flashing light. Avoid sunburnt or freshly tanned skin, and never flash over tattoos, dark moles or broken skin. If you have a medical condition, check with your GP first.
Are there any ongoing costs?
No. There are no cartridges, refills or subscriptions to buy. You pay once for the device, and that's it.
What if it doesn't work for me?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee. Email support@seloria.co.uk within 30 days of delivery and we'll guide you through your return. Full terms are in our Return Policy.
